Whether you decide to big chop or transition to natural hair the process can be stressful and very expensive. There is so much information and recommendations out there that it can all be too overwhelming. This frustration leads to many who hoped to go natural to give up.

The main reasons I hear from those who had given up is that having natural hair is too much work and no products worked for their hair.I personally have been there after doing the big chop in 2001 then relaxing my hair again in 2003. I decided to go natural again in 2012, but this time I chose to transition to natural hair. I have to admit that it was a very frustrating process because I was learning what worked for my hair. I had a bathroom full of expensive products that were not producing my desired result.

I want to encourage everyone who no longer wants to chemically straighten their hair to reach their goal. The key is a sustainable routine. For me the hair care process had to be quick and simple to match my lack of time and patience. The products had to be affordable so I could easily repurchase my staple products.

Knowing how to quickly and easily detangle your natural hair is essential! Transitioning hair knots and tangles very easily.I bought a pair of shears to clip knots from my remaining relaxed hair. I also recommend buying The Wet Brush. It gently releases knots without tugging on fragile transitioning hair.
